Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (Bosiet) with Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS)
This Training is for those who require offshore safety and emergency awareness training requirement for personnel who are travelling to the offshore oil and gas industry and who will be supplied with a Compressed air emergency breathing system (CA-EBS) during offshore helicopter travel.

Information
This Practice introduces learners to the specific safety issues and mitigates relevant to offshore installations and to equip them with the basic emergency response knowledge and skills for travelling to and from offshore installations by helicopter.
Participants must be at least 18 years old and able to swim 50 meters unaided. Prior offshore experience is not required for this initial training course.
A valid offshore medical certificate is required. Participants should be in good physical health and free from any conditions that may prevent participation in water-based exercises.
The objectives of the BOSIET (with CA-EBS) Training are that learners will be able to:
- Identify the general hazards which are specific to offshore oil and gas installations, potential risks associated with those hazards, and how suitable and quick action in place to eliminate or reduce risks.
- Identify any offshore related safety requirements and regulations and maintain the basic safety arrangements / systems.
- Demonstrate in an unstructured environment that they can use the safety equipment and follow procedures in an emergency ETC, and during helicopter emergencies - with particular focus on escaping from a helicopter following ditching.
- Demonstrate sea survival and first aid techniques.
- Demonstrate the effective use of offshore personal smoke firefighting equipment, and practice self-rescue techniques in low visibility situations, including smoke-filled areas.
